When using pre-sprays, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for dilution ratios and application methods.

 Pre-sprays are typically applied to the carpet surface and left to dwell for a certain period of time to allow the cleaning agents to penetrate and break down dirt and stains. In extreme cases agitation may be required. After the dwell time, the carpet can be thoroughly cleaned using hot water extraction (HWE), and an Acid Rinse if necessary.
